I could draw before I could talk. As I grew older my love for pen and paper only grew. It drove me to achieve a BFA from the school of the Art Institute of Chicago. Then professionally as a designer/illustrator at the Shedd Aquarium where I found out what it meant to work on projects that I believed in.
After moving to Portland, Oregon, I was ready to push my drawing talents further. Being fortunate to be at an advertising agency known for illustration, I threw my hat in the ring to be the artist on the (locally famous) End Petlessness campaign for the Oregon Humane Society. That lasted 10 years, and as the illustrator/art director, produced some of the best work of my career.
What I’ve found is my love for illustration has only grown. Whether it’s pen and paper or pixels and vectors; the collaboration, exploration and process to create vibrant work is where I’m at my best.
